Dr. Jarrod Spencer

Dr. Jarrod Spencer is a Sports Psychologist who is passionate about improving the emotional health of athletes.  He is a leading trusted authority on the mind of today’s athlete.  He loves sports and sees athletics as the best opportunity to learn about the mind. Dr. Jarrod has an innate ability to connect with athletes. His communication style is positive, proactive, and results-focused. His approach is often highly successful because of his warmth, insight, and teaching style. Dr. Jarrod takes athletes “one step deeper” than they have previously examined the mental side of their game. Through a blend of the “outside in” and “inside out” learning styles, athletes get “unstuck”.  Influenced by views in psychoanalysis, Christianity, and peak performance literature, Dr. Jarrod has a heart to serve athletes and help improve their emotional health and overall well-being.

Dr. Jarrod is a fixture in regional media, providing numerous television, radio, and newspaper interviews on Performance Psychology.  He has served as a weekly guest on ESPN Radio explaining the psychology of current events in sports. Dr. Jarrod has also starred in the TV Show “What the Heck Were They Thinking?!” with former Heavyweight Boxing Champion Larry Holmes. Dr. Jarrod also created and starred on the TV show Mind of the Athlete

Each year Dr. Jarrod provides nearly 1,000 coaching sessions and conducts over 100 speeches.
Dr. Jarrod works with professional, college, and high school athletes, coaches, and teams. He is also the Sports Psychologist for various college programs across the country.

As an athlete, Dr. Jarrod was an All State High School wrestler and two-time Captain of New Jersey State Championship wrestling teams. While in college, he was a tailback for Lafayette College’s football team. In graduate school he played rugby at West Chester University. Dr. Jarrod has also coached at various levels.

As a graduate of Argosy University in Chicago, IL with a Doctorate of Psychology, Dr. Jarrod has extensive training and experience in the fields of health and sports psychology.  He had professional training at The Jersey Shore Medical Center, Northwestern Neuropsychological Associates, and The Diamond Headache Clinic. He earned his Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from West Chester University and his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychobiology from Lafayette College.

Dr. Jarrod is a licensed psychologist in Pennsylvania and Maryland. He is a member of The American Psychological Association, The Pennsylvania Psychological Association, The Lehigh Valley Psychological Association, and the American Association of Christian Counseling. He is a credentialed speaker with the NCAA. Dr. Jarrod has an office located in historic downtown Easton, PA. He currently resides in the beautiful Lehigh Valley of Pennsylvania with his wife and three children.
