Mind of the Leader

Today’s leaders endure a great amount of stress. However, even the best leaders can crumble under the compilation of stressful circumstances. As a result, leaders are unable to perform at their optimal level. The key to better performance is having a clearer preconscious mind. The preconscious mind is that part of our mind where experiences that are not part of one’s immediate awareness are stored but can still be easily recalled. Today’s leaders take on an immense amount of stress and those stressful experiences flood their preconscious mind. Leaders can handle it…that is in fact what tends to make them great leaders. But occasionally even the best leader’s preconscious mind can only manage so much stress for so long. If it is not being cleared, the mind begins to function less than its best and performance is compromised. When a leader gets stressed they begin to break down or in worse cases even begin to break away. However, when the preconscious mind is clear, it is amazing what we can do and how well we can do it!

preconscious mind.jpgEveryday high functioning people make big decisions in milliseconds that impact their lives long term, therefore their preconscious mind must be at its best. This is the competitive advantage. A clearer preconscious mind enables us to be more energized, witty, and creative. When a leader’s mind is functioning as such in their field of endeavor, it gives the leader more emotional energy rather than draining them. It is this abundance of emotional energy that enables the leader to be at their best not just in their field of endeavor, but also in their private life. It is those private relationships that typically feel the positive or negative impact of the leader’s preconscious mind the most. Those relationships deserve the best from a leader too. Keeping the preconscious clearer is a key to greater happiness in all areas of a leader’s life.
